Welcome to Springhead Nursery.

"The supportive and caring provision in the Springherad Nursery and Reception classes helps them to settle in quickly and to understand expectations of school life. Staff are calm and kind and children grow in confidence as their skills develop.

They regularly get chances to learn outdoors, where their enthusiasm and energy is put to good use in the school’s extensive and well-resourced grounds.

From the very start, staff bring lessons to life with music, art and drama, which capture children’s interests and prepare the ground for what is to follow in later years.

The nursery offers both full time and part time places for children, the children can start the term after they are three.  We aim to provide a caring foundation to the children's learning giving them the skills and confidence to flourish. "

We are very proud of our caring,  nursery where the children get a good start to their learning in the school.  

We have got a qualified teacher leading the nursery.

The nursery opens at 8.45am and closes at 3.15pm.  Children in the nursery can also use the care club which opens at 7.30am and closes at 5.30pm.

Parents can access the free nursery provision of up to 30 hours a week for three year olds.  Click here to see if you are eligable.   

Admissions and our nursery offer at Springhead

The School admissions number for the school year 2024/2025 is 30 places.

We offer places on a Full or Part Time basis (dependent on family circumstances) Places in our Nursery will be available at 3 points this year. Your child can join our school the term after their 3rd birthday. All children will be entitled to 15 hours free universal provision. As working parents, you may be eligible to 30 hours provision.

All children will be offered 15 hours Universal Funding. This can be organised as:

·        5 mornings – 8:45am until 11:45am

·        5 afternoons – 12:15pm until 3:15pm

·        Or as a 2.5 days a week arrangement (if the nursery has capacity. This will also amount to a an additional cost to cover the lunchtime wraparound care)

We also offer full time 32.5 hours provision. This allows your child to remain in school for a full school week (again there is an additional cost for the extra 2.5 hours)

How it will run here at our school

Our current sessions are:

AM - 8:45am-11:45am (15 hours free universal provision)

PM - 12.15pm -3:15pm (15 hours free universal provision)

ALL DAY – 8:45am – 3:15pm (30 hour provision)

If you access the 30 hour entitlement here at Springhead, then you would have 2 options over the lunch time period. They are;

Option 1: You can pay for a school lunch for your child at a cost of £2.95 per day.

Option 2: You can send your child in with a packed lunch from home.

If you are not eligible for the 30 hour entitlement but want to access some sessions beyond the universal 15 hrs, please let us know so that we can try and accommodate your needs.
